Baseball Writers Rank OSU No. 22
March 8, 2005
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State is ranked No. 22 in this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll, which was released Tuesday. That's a jump of 12 places from last week, and it is OSU's highest ranking in any of this week's four national polls.
The Beavers (11-2 overall) had moved up to No. 23 in the Baseball America magazine national rankings that were released Monday and received votes worth 28th place in the Sports Weekly/ESPN Top 25 coaches poll; both marks represent a climb of one spot from the Beavers' rankings a week ago. OSU remained in 28th place in the Collegiate Baseball newspaper national rankings.
This weekend, OSU will be at Pepperdine's Yellow Book USA Classic against Cal State-Northridge on Friday at 10 a.m., Pepperdine on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Winthrop on Sunday at 10 a.m. All three games can be heard on www.osubeavers.com.
Oregon State then returns to its home state for its next dozen games, with 11 of those 12 at the Beavers' Goss Stadium at Coleman Field. The Beavers will host Sacramento State from March 18-20, Dallas Baptist from March 24-26, Brigham Young from March 28-29 and California from April 1-3 to open the Pacific-10 season. The only road game in that stretch is March 22 at Portland.
Season tickets for OSU's 22 remaining home games are on sale now. Season tickets give fans the same theater-style reserved seat for all home games for $100; there is an OSU Faculty/Staff rate of $80 and a Senior rate for fans age 62 and over for $80. Fans can also get the Pac-10 Package, which provides a reserved seat for all 12 Pac-10 home games, for $50. The Family Plan provides general admission seating for $20 per adult and $10 per child through high school, with a minimum of one adult ticket and one child ticket needing to be purchased to use the plan.
