Husky Golfers Off to Hot Start at Spartan Invitational

Salinas, cA - The fourth-ranked Washington women's golf team is in second place after Tuesday's first round of play at the Spartan Invitational held at Corral de Tierra in Salinas, Calif. The Huskies opened play with a 9-over 293 and trail UNLV by a single stroke.
UNLV'sElena Kurokawa leads the tournament by one shot over Cal's Sophie Andersson. Kurokawa shot a four-under 67, while Andersson shot a three-under 68. Kim Shin of Washington was the only other player to shoot par or better with an even-par 71.
The second round of the tournament is also being played Tuesday. Updated results will be available this evening.
