Pacific Life Pac-10 Tournament Quotes

March 10, 2005

Head Coach ROB EVANS:

On the Sum of Season: 'We played well all year long. This basketball team has played tremendous basketball. We played 31 games and I would say out of 31 games 27 of them they played extremely well. So I'm extremely proud of them. '

On the First Half: 'The intensity picked up in the 2nd half I thought we were a little bit more patient with the basketball offensively. We did a lot better job defending. We had 37 points at the half. The 52 points is too many points to give up in the 1st half because we were really patient with the basketball.'

On the Overtime Period: 'I was pleased with the looks. I was pleased with the way my team played offensively in the second half and in the overtime.'

Steve Moore

On Overtime Effort: 'I just didn't want to lose. For me, besides the N.I.T. there is no more basketball for me. I didn't want to go out like that, so I just wanted to leave it all out there on the floor which is what I tried to do.'

On the Shot that Forced Overtime: 'I was just trying to get to the rack, I was just trying to get a foul and make the shot. I was just trying to get to the basket as quick as I could.'

Ike Diogu

On Similarities from February 24th game in Seattle: 'They played me the same way they did in Seattle, but they took a chance on me by putting so many guys on me that it opened up the perimeter. The perimeter guys were killers. I didn't have to go and score 31 because the outside guys were hitting shots.'
