UCLA Bruins Head to Cal State Northridge Invitational March 18-19

The UCLA women's track and field team will head to the Valley this weekend for the Cal State Northridge Invitational. The meet will begin on Friday, Mar. 18 with the women and men's hammer competition at 1:00 pm, with the remainder of the beginning on Saturday, Mar. 19. Field event competition begins at 9:15 am on Saturday with the men's long jump and women's javelin and running events begin at 9:00 am with the men's 5000m.
This past weekend (March 11-12), the UCLA women finished 20th at the NCAA Indoor with just two competitors, as senior Candice Baucham and junior Dawn Harper both earned All-American honors in their respective events. Baucham placed third in the triple jump with an indoor lifetime-best (44-4), while Harper finished third in the 60m hurdles with a lifetime-best 8.05.
In the first outdoor meet of the season (UCLA Invite, Mar. 5) the Bruin women had six Regional qualifying marks. Athletes that have qualified for the Regional meet include: senior Lara Saye (SP-50-11.50, DT-183-0, HT-181-2), senior Jessica Cosby (SP-50-8.25, HT-203-4) and senior Monique Henderson (100m-11.59).
