AROUND THE PAC-10

ARIZONA - Posted its 18th consecutive 20-win season, which is the longest active streak in the nation... With the Pac-10 title clinching victory at Arizona State in the final game of the regular season, coach Lute Olson set a Pac-10 record with his 305th league victory. He passed legendary UCLA coach John Wooden who posted a 304-74 (.810) record from 1949-75. Olson's record in Pac-10 games only stands at 305-87 (.778)... Senior guard Salim Stoudamire set a Pac-10 career record with 329 three-point field goals made. His 107 three-pointers this season rank as the fourth best single-season mark in the Pac-10. He needs eight three-pointers to move to the top of the list... Arizona has three players that have scored 1,000 or more points in their careers - Stoudamire (1,887), senior center Channing Frye (1,727) and junior forward Hassan Adams (1,209)... Frye ranks third on the UA all-time rebound list with 936 rebounds. His 241 career blocked shots rank second all-time in the Pac-10.

ARIZONA STATE - Junior center Ike Diogu has scored in double figures in all 90 games during his career. The NCAA record is 115 set by La Salle's Lionel Simmons from 1987-90, while Sean Elliott of Arizona (1985-89) scored in double digits in the final 108 games of his career... Diogu leads the nation in free throws made (240) and attempted (300). His 663 career free throws made rank second all-time in the Pac-10. Only UCLA's Don MacLean (711 From 1988-92) is ahead of Diogu. His 843 career free throw attempts trail Stanford's Adam Keefe (886 from 1989-92).... Diogu leads the Pac-10 in both scoring (22.4 ppg) and rebounding (9.7 rpg). Only A.C. Green of Oregon State (1985) and Mark McNamara of California (1982) have led the Pac-10 in both categories.

CALIFORNIA - Junior center David Paris led the Pac-10 in conference games by shooting 62.1 percent from the field... Junior forward Rod Benson was one of five players to be ranked among the top 10 in scoring and rebounding in league games. Benson averaged 13.7 points and 6.4 rebounds this season, showing a significant increase over the 2.6 points and 1.7 rebounds he averaged last season... Coach Ben Braun will enter next season needing just one win to reach career victory No. 500.

OREGON - Freshmen accounted for 51.8 percent of Oregon's offense this season (992 of 1,915 points)... It's the first time in school history that two freshmen have scored 300 or more points in the same season. Malik Hairston tallied 355 points, while Bryce Taylor posted 314 points... Hairston and Taylor were named to the Pac-10 All-Freshman team. The last time Oregon was honored with two selections on the All-Freshman team was in 2001. That season, former Ducks and current NBA players Luke Jackson and Luke Ridnour earned similar honors... The Ducks have sold out Mac Court for 28 straight Pac-10 games.

OREGON STATE - At 17-14, it's the first winning season for the Beavers since 1990... Senior forward David Lucas is the first OSU player to be named All-Pac-10 in back-to-back seasons since Scott Haskins in 1992 and 1993... Lucas needs seven points to become the 31st player in school history to reach 1,000 points... Junior forward Nick DeWitz, the Pac-10's Newcomer of the Year, ranks third on the school's single-season list with 50 blocked shots... The Beavers posted a 12-1 record at home this season.

STANFORD - The Cardinal tied for third in the Pac-10, making it the 10th straight season they have finished third or better in Pac-10 play, and the 12th straight in which they have recorded 10 or more league victories... Junior forward Matt Haryasz has recorded 11 career double-doubles, all coming this season. In fact, he's posted six double-doubles in the last nine games... All-Pac-10 junior guard Dan Grunfeld averaged 17.9 points this season. His +14.3 ppg improvement from last season's average of 3.4 points per game was the best by a Division I player this year... Junior All-Pac-10 guard Chris Hernandez is one of two players (the other is Washington's Nate Robinson) in the Pac-10 to be ranked in the top 10 in both scoring (15.2 ppg) and assists (4.03 apg).

UCLA - Freshman point guard Jordan Farmar, the Pac-10's Freshman of the Year, led all Pac-10 freshman with 13.6 points per game and 5.29 assists per game... Farmar and teammate Arron Afflalo became the first freshmen backcourt tandem to start since Baron Davis and Earl Watson did it in the 1997-98 season. Before that? It was Michael Holton and Rod Foster in 1979-80, a good five years before either Farmar or Afflalo were born... Senior forward Dijon Thompson ranks 20th on UCLA's career scoring list with 1,436 points.

USC - On January 14, Tim Floyd was named the Trojan men's head basketball coach, effective on April 1, 2005. Floyd spent the season as an assistant coach in order to handle recruiting, while interim head coach Jim Saia finished out the season... Guard Gabe Pruitt was named to the Pac-10 All-Freshman team. He ranked among the league leaders in scoring (12.3 ppg/19th), three-point field goal percentage (.450/4th), three-point field goals made per game (2.17 pg/5th), assists (3.17 apg/10th), and steals (1.93 spg/2nd).

WASHINGTON - At 27-5, the Huskies posted the most wins in a season since the 1953 squad finished the season at 28-3. The school record is 29 victories under Hec Edmundson in 1938... Senior guard Will Conroy set a UW single-season record with 198 assists. He also owns the UW career mark with 494 assists... With senior guard Tre Simmons and junior guard Nate Robinson earning All-Pac-10 honors, it's the first time since 1987 that two Huskies were named to the team. That season, teammates Phil Zevenbergen and Chris Welp were named All-Pac-10... The Huskies' 22-game home winning streak is currently the fourth longest in the country. Their 16-game Pac-10 home winning streak is the longest in school history.

WASHINGTON STATE - Senior guard Thomas Kelati became the first Cougar to earn All-Pac-10 since Carlos Daniel in 1998. Kelati's 81 three-point field goals were the third best single-season total in WSU history. His 232 career treys rank second on the school's list, just one shy of matching the school record of 233 set by Eddie Hill (1991-94)... Kelati finished his career with 1,081 points, placing him 18th on the school's all-time list... WSU led the league in scoring defense, allowing just 56.9 points per game. It's the lowest total in the Pac-10 since Oregon State held opponents to 55.8 points per game during the 1983-84 season (before the shot clock). In fact, WSU has held all but two opponents to 69 or fewer points this season... Seven of its last nine loses were by seven or fewer points.
