Friday's Baseball Home Game Moved To 3 p.m.
March 15, 2005
CORVALLIS, Ore. - The start time for Oregon State's baseball series-opener against Sacramento State on Friday afternoon has been moved ahead one hour to 3 p.m. The change was made to accommodate the possibility of a National Invitation Tournament men's basketball game that evening.
The Beavers (13-3 overall) will also meet the Hornets on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. All three games can be heard on www.osubeavers.com. This week, Oregon State is ranked No. 22 in the nation by Baseball America magazine, No. 26 in the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll and No. 30 by Collegiate Baseball newspaper; the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll will be released later on Tuesday.
This weekend's series starts a stretch of a dozen straight games within the state for OSU, with 11 of those 12 at home. After playing Sacramento State, the Beavers host Dallas Baptist from March 24-26, Brigham Young from March 28-29 and California from April 1-3 to open the Pacific-10 season. The only road game in that stretch is March 22 at Portland.
Season tickets for OSU's 22 remaining home games are on sale now. Season tickets give fans the same theater-style reserved seat for all home games for $100; there is an OSU Faculty/Staff rate of $80 and a Senior rate for fans age 62 and over for $80.
