Stanford's Caroline Bruce Named Pac-10 Women's Swimmer of the Month

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - STANFORD's Caroline Bruce has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Women's Swimmer of the Month for February , Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Bruce, a freshman from Wichita, Kan., won three events at the Pac-10 Women's Swimming and Diving Championship, held Feb. 23-26 in Federal Way, Wash. She earned NCAA qualifying times while winning the 400 yard IM, the 200 yard IM and the 200 yard breaststroke. Bruce, who was named the Swimmer of the Championship, took the 400 IM in a time of 4:10.31, the 200 IM in 1:58.40 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:09.76, helping Stanford win its third Pac-10 women's swimming title in the last four years.
This is the second straight monthly honor for Bruce, and the second women's swimming monthly honor for Stanford.
