USC Men's Tennis Falls To No. 31 Clemson, 4-3

LOS ANGELES - The No. 15 USC men's tennis team fell 4-3 to No. 32 Clemson on Saturday, March 19, at Marks Stadium. USC freshman Adam Loucks won his seventh consecutive singles match over Michael Gee, 6-3, 6-3 at court No. 6 but it wasn't enough for Troy.
With the loss the Trojans fall to 7-7 while the Tigers improve to 20-2 on the season.
The two teams started off with singles, which turned out to be bad news for USC. Clemson won four of the six matches to clinch the victory for the Tigers. Brian Wright and Loucks were the only highlights in singles for the Trojans. Wright defeated Brett Twente, 6-1, 6-1,on court No. 5. Loucks pickedup the other singles point for Troy with his victory at court No. 6.
USC finished the day on a high note though with a sweep at the three doubles positions. Jamil Al-Agba and Johan Berg defeated Nathan Thompson and Ryan Young, 8-6, at center court. Drew Hoskins and Loucks beat Clement Reix and Sander Koning, 9-8, at court No. 2. Jarryd Cooper and Kaes Van't Hof teamed up to defeat Ryan Cook and Twente, 8-3, at court No. 3.
The Trojans Friday match against Texas was canceled due to rain and wil not be made up.
USC next takes the court against third-ranked Illinois on Tuesday, March 22, at 1:30 p.m. at Marks Stadium
