Men's Tennis Unable to Upend Georgia Tech in 4-3 Loss

March 22, 2005

Tempe, AZ- The Arizona State Men's Tennis Team suffered another close tough loss Tuesday afternoon at Tempe's Whiteman Tennis Center at the hands of Georgia Tech's Yellow Jackets.

The Sun Devils came out swinging and gave the Yellow Jackets (7-7) a run for their money as the deciding points came all the way down to the last pair of singles.

The Devils rallied after being swept in doubles earlier in the match to pull to a 3-2 Georgia Tech advantage match, led by Clinton Letcher who defeated the 21st-ranked Jose Luis Muguruza with the last two remaining singles matches left on the court and the Devils in need of two points to win.

Unfortunately for the Devils they were only able to pull off one of those wins with Chris Biro defeating David North 7-5, 4-6, 7-5.

The other Devil in action was Jonathan Kinsella who just barely fell in a nail-biting match to Marko Rajevac, 7-6(5), 6-7(4), 7-6(5).

The Devils fall to 6-6 on the season and hope to bounce back in tomorrow's match versus the 21st-ranked Tulane.

The match is set to be held at Tempe's Whiteman Tennis Center at 1:30 p.m.
