Trojans In 12th Place After First Round Of National Invitational

First-round results

The No. 15 USC men's golf team shot a one-under-par 287 to finish in 12th place after the first round of very stiff competition in the Wal-Mart National Invitational at the Omni Tucson National Resort and Spa.

Senior Nico Bollini leads the Trojans after shooting 70 in the first round to finish tied for 17th place. Junior Taylor Wood shot a one-under 71 (tied for 29th) and sophomore Joshua Wooding shot par to finish the day tied for 34th place.

TCU's J.J. Killeen shot a six-under-par 66 and sits atop of the individual leader board as his team's 12-under 276 leads second-place UNLV by one stroke. There is a three-way tie for third between New Mexico, Arizona State and host Arizona's B squad, all shooting an eight-under 280.
