Coughlin Third in 100 Fly, Rowe Seventh in 100 Breast at World Trials

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - U.S. Olympian and former California All-American Natalie Coughlin took third place in the 100-meter butterfly final on Friday evening at USA Swimming's long course World Championship Trials. Cal senior Caleb Rowe finished in seventh place in the men's 100-meter breaststroke final and Cal junior Ashley Chandler was sixth in the women's 400-meter freestyle final on day one of the meet held at the IU Natatorium. All three are competing for their club, California Aquatics.
Cal freshman Erin Reilly, also swimming for California Aquatics, took second (in 4:19.11) in the women's 400-meter free final to place 18th overall in the event.
Day two of the World Championship Trials begins tomorrow with the women's 100-meter backstroke.
