No. 17 California Upset by No. 33 Arizona State

Berkeley - The No. 17 California women's tennis team was upset by No. 33 Arizona State, 4-3, Saturday afternoon at the Hellman Tennis Center. With the loss, the Golden Bears record falls to 12-5 overall, 2-3 in Pac-10 play.

Cal wasn't able to win the doubles point, but did notch a victory on court one, where the freshman duo of Suzi Babos and Stephanie Kusano defeated the Sun Devils' Lauren Colalillo and Kady Pooler, 8-5.

No. 4 Babos was victorious in singles as well, where she tallied her 15th dual match win over Sabrina Capannolo, 6-3;6-2. Kusano picked up a win for the Bears on court two, where she defeated Joslynn Burnett in straight sets, 6-3; 6-0.

The Bears picked up their third singles win on court five, where junior co-captain Jessica Shu beat Colalillo in two sets, 6-2;6-0.

Cal will travel to Los Angeles Friday, April 8 to face No.13 UCLA at 1:30 p.m.
