No. 36 California Falls to No. 47 Arizona, 5-2

Tucson, Ariz. - The No. 36 California men's tennis team was upset by No. 47 Arizona, 5-2, this afternoon in Tucson, Ariz. With the loss, the Golden Bears record falls to 7-9 overall, 1-2 in Pac-10 play.

Cal dropped the doubles point to open the match, but picked up a win on court two. Juniors Lennart Maack and Dean Wallace defeated Daniel Andrus and Paul Warkentin, 9-8 (7-4).

In singles play, the Bears picked up two wins. No. 19 Conor Niland defeated Colin O'Grady on court one, 7-6; 6-3. Senior captain Patrick Briaud notched the Bears other win on court three, where he outlasted Warkentin, 3-6; 7-6 (8-6); 11-9.

The Bears remain on the road, where they face No. 38 Arizona State Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m.
