Women Of Troy In Sixth Following Second Round of Ping/ASU Invitational

The 18th-ranked USC women's golf team shot an eight-over-par 296 in the second round of the PING/ASU Invitational Saturday at the Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz.
The Trojans posted a two-round score of 599 (+23) to remain in sixth place. USC trails team leader and cross-town rival UCLA (578) by 21 strokes. Tournament host Arizona State is second, trailing the Bruins by four stokes (582) and Pepperdine and Cal are tied for third, each shooting a 17-over 593.
Sophomore Catalina Marin continues to lead the Trojans after shooting a two-over 74 in the first two rounds. She is tied for 17th with Cal's Claire Dury and Stanford's Kelly Husted. Fellow underclassmen, freshman Dewi-Claire Schreefel shot a five-over 149 in the first two rounds and is tied for 22nd.
Sophomore Veronica Felibert carded an eight-over 152, to finish tied for 35th after the first two rounds. Junior Tanya Dergal shot one-over (73) in the second round and finished tied for 47th with a 10-over 154. Classmate Irene Cho is tied for 67th with her 14-over 158 in the first two rounds.
Playing as an individual, freshman Paola Moreno is tied for 60th after two rounds with a 12-over 156.
