Women's Tennis Shocks No. 17 Cal Bears With a 4-3 Upset

Berkeley, Calif - The Arizona State Women's Tennis Team stepped up huge Saturday afternoon at the Hellman Tennis Center with a 4-3 upset win over the shocked 17th-ranked California Golden Bears.

The day started off well with the Devils able to take the doubles point from the Bears led off by the Devil duo of Rebecca Rankin and Joslynn Burkett defeating Monica Wiesener and Tiffany Lee, 8-2.

Winning the doubles point allowed the Devils to take the match after splitting the singles matches evenly with Cal, with wins from Jessica Leitch, Kady Pooler and Rebecca Rankin.

The win boosts ASU to 7-7 on the season and 2-3 in the Pac-10 while Cal falls to 12-5 on the season and 2-3 in Pac-10 matches.

The Devils are off until Friday where they'll continue their home season against Washington State.

The match is set to kick off at 1:30 at Tempe's Whiteman Tennis Center.
