No. 8 Cal Looks To Defends Back-to-Back Windermere Crew Classic Titles

This Week: California will face five crews ranked in the Top 10 of the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association/USRowing poll April 9 at the Windermere Crew Classic. Against a field that includes Pac-10 rival Stanford, The Bears try to repeat their stand out performance from the past two years. Cal will use the Windermere to prepare for the upcoming dual meets versus Washington (April 23) and Stanford (April 30).
Cal's Schedule: Cal varsity eight takes on No. 12 Wisconsin in its first race of the Windermere Crew Classic at Redwood Shores, followed by races against Clemson and No. 6 Virginia.
The Field: No. 1 Princeton is the highest ranked women's crew at this year's regatta. No. 2 Yale, No. 5 Michigan, No. 6 Virginia and No. 9 Washington are also ranked in the top 10; Stanford, Texas, UCLA and Wisconsin figure in the top 20.

San Diego Crew Classic Recap (April 2-3, 2005): For the third year in a row the Golden Bears rose to the occasion to win the Jessop-Whittier Cup at the annual San Diego Crew Classic. Cal dominated the regatta, posting winning times in all three grand final races. In the Jessop-Whittier Cup grand finale Cal beat Stanford by 17 seconds, followed by USC, UCLA, Washington State and Tennessee.
