Corvallis - Oregon State men's basketball senior forward Jim Hanchett was named to the Pac-10 All-Academic first team, while junior guard Lamar Hurd has been selected for the second team, the conference announced today.

Hanchett has a 3.59 grade-point average in science, while Hurd has a 3.26 GPA in communications.

Hanchett appeared in 19 games, starting one, and averaged 2.5 points and 2.6 rebounds. He was one of OSU's first players off the bench until he underwent shoulder surgery in February, forcing him to miss the last 11 games of the season.

Hurd, the starting point guard, played in 29 games and started 27. He averaged 2.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists. He ranked #6 in the Pac-10 in assist/turnover ratio. In conference games only, he ranked #1 in the Pac-10 in that statistic. Hurd was named to the Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention squad in 2003-04.
