LOS ANGELES - The USC women's basketball team finished 22nd in the final 2005 USA Today/ESPN poll. The Women of Troy last ended a season ranked in 1994, when they finished ninth.

The 2005 Women of Troy reached the NCAA second round before being eliminated in the final seconds of their game against top-seed and eventual tournament runner-up Michigan State.
USC returns 11 players next season, including 2005 leading scorer Brynn Cameron, leading rebounder Meghan Gnekow, Pac-10 All-Tournament Team member Eshaya Murphy and point guard Camille LeNoir, who scored a career-high 18 points in the NCAA tournament second round match-up against Michigan State.
