No. 20 California Falls to No. 11 UCLA, 5-2

Los Angeles, Calif. - The No. 20 California women's tennis team fell to No. 11 UCLA, 5-2, Friday afternoon in Los Angeles, Calif. With the loss, the Golden Bears fall to 12-6 overall, 2-3 in Pac-10 play, while the Bruins improve to 13-4 overall, 6-1 Pac-10.

While Cal wasn't able to come away with the doubles point, they did pick up a win on court three, where the new doubles duo of Marion Ravelojaona and Cristina Visico defeated Sarah Gregg and Elizabeth Lumpkin in a close match, 9-7.

Cal tallied two victories in singles play on courts five and six. Senior Jessica Shu improved to 13-5 in dual matches when she defeated Tracy Lin on court five in straight sets, 6-4; 6-4.

Freshman Visico, currently ranked No. 106 in the nation in singles, upset No. 98 Laura Gordon on court six in three sets, 4-6; 6-3; 6-0.

The Bears will face No. 3 USC Saturday, April 9 at 12 noon at the Trojans' Marks Stadium.
