Beavers race in Windermere Crew Classic

Oregon State was in California today, competing in the Windermere Crew Classic. The Beavers raced against No. 2 California and No. 13 Wisconsin.

The Varsity Eight stuck with Cal through the first 500 meters, but Cal was to much for the Beavers and extended the lead through the end of the race and beat the beavers by 11 seconds. In the second race of the day however, the Beavers broke out to an early lead and kept it until the end to beat a very good Wisconsin crew by nine seconds.

The JV Eight raced against California and lost by 10 seconds, but then they beat Cal Davis later in the day by 14 seconds.

The Novice Eight also raced against California and got beat by a little over 23 seconds, and then they beat Cal Davis later on in the day.

Tomorrow the Varsity Eight will be racing against the University of Michigan at 10:40 AM. The JV Eight will race at 9:48 AM vs. Sacramento State, and the Novice Eight races against Stanford at 11:16 AM.
