No. 35 California Upsets No. 13 USC, 5-2

Berkeley - The No. 35 California men's tennis team pulled off their second upset in as many days, defeating No. 13 USC, 5-2, Saturday afternoon at the Hellman Tennis Center. The win follows the Golden Bears' 4-3 upset of No. 6 UCLA Friday, April 8. With the win, Cal improves to 10-9 overall, 4-2 in Pac-10 play.
Cal opened play on their final home match of the season taking the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. Sophomores Tyler Browne and Daniel Sebescen defeated Kaes Van't Hof and Jarryd Cooper, 8-3, on court three. The Bears clinched the point on court one, where the No. 16 duo of Patrick Briaud and Conor Niland beat Johan Berg and Jamil Al Agba, 8-6.
Cal went on to win four of six matches in singles play. Freshman Ken Nakahara made quick work of the Trojans' Whit Livingston, winning in straights sets on court six, 6-2; 6-4.
Sophomore Tyler Browne notched the Bears' second win in singles play on court five, where he was victorious over Adam Loucks, 7-6; 6-2.
Junior Lennart Maack clinched the win for the Bears on court two, where he upset No. 62 Drew Hoskins, 6-2; 6-5.
Junior Niland defeated his second-consecutive Top 10 opponent, beating No. 10 Al-Agba in straight sets on court one, 6-2; 7-5.
Cal closes out the regular season on Saturday, April 16, when they travel to Palo Alto, CA, to take on Pac-10 rival Stanford.
