USC Falls To California, 5-2

Berkeley, Calif. - The No. 13 USC men's tennis team fell, 5-2, to No. 35 California on Saturday, April 9, in Berkeley, Calif. With the win the Trojans drop to 11-10 and 3-2 in conference play, while the Golden Bears improve to 10-9, 4-2.

Doubles started off in Cal's favor as they took the first and third positions. Troy's Drew Hoskins and Adam Loucks beat Lennart Maack and Dean Wallace, 8-5, to avoid the doubles sweep.

In singles, USC dropped four of six matches in singles play--giving the Golden Bears the victory and a split in the two matchups this season between the two programs. The Trojans' Johan Berg defeated Patrick Briaud, 7-6, 6-3, at court No. 3. Freshman Kaes Van't Hof provided Troy's other point with his 6-4, 6-3 victory over Daniel Sebescen at court four.

USC closes out the regular season on Friday, April 15, when it travels across town to face rival UCLA.
