Husky Golfers Travel to U.S. Intercollegiate

Seattle - The 26th-ranked Washington men's golf team travels to Stanford this week for the U.S. Intercollegiate presented by the Maple Fund. The 54-hole tournament takes place April 16-17, at the Stanford Golf Course (par 71, 6,786 yards). Teams will play 36 holes on Saturday and the final 18 on Sunday.

Participating teams include Stanford, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, Washington State, UCLA, USC, Oregon, Oregon State, California, UC Irvine, San Francisco, San Jose, Pacific, Santa Clara, Fresno State, San Diego State and Long Beach State.

UCLA (279-277-284--840) won the tournament last year while San Diego State's Mark Warman (71-62-73--206) was crowned the individual champion. Washington did not play in the event last year.

The U.S. Intercollegiate will be the Huskies final regular-season tournament. Washington plays in the Pac-10 Championships April 25-27 at the Walla Walla Country Club.

Junior James Lepp currently leads the team with a 71.71 stroke average through eight tournaments.
