No. 21 California Defeated by No. 1 Stanford, 6-1

Berkeley - The No. 21 California women's tennis team fell to No. 1 Stanford, 6-1, Saturday afternoon at the Hellman Tennis Center. With the loss, the Golden Bears end the regular season 12-8 overall, 2-5 in Pac-10 play, while Stanford remains undefeated at a perfect 21-0 overall, 7-0 Pac-10.

The Cardinal opened play capturing the doubles point, but Cal's No. 49 duo of Suzi Babos and Stephanie Kusano upset No. 29 Anne Yelsey and Amber Liu in a tight match, 9-8 (8-7).

The Bears picked up one win in singles on court six, where freshman No. 106 Cristina Visico picked up her 12th consecutive victory after Lejla Hodzic was forced to withdraw due to injury in the first set.

Cal travels to Ojai, Calif., Thursday, April 21 to Sunday, April 24 for the Pac-10 Championships.
