Everhart and Johnson lead Bruins in the Desert

Junior Craig Everhart and sophomore Brandon Johnson led the Bruin men at the Sun Angel Classic on Saturday as both posted season-bests and top national times in their respective events. Everhart finished sixth in the 400m in a time of 46.14, while Johnson placed second in the 400m hurdles in a time of 49.18. Both Everhart and Johnson ran regional qualifiers on Saturday.
In the 110m hurdles, senior Tony Golston ran a season-best 14.03, placing fourth overall. His time was also a regional qualifier. Senior Jonathan Williams finsihed sixth with a regional time of 14.18, but has run faster this year. Williams also finished ninth in the 400m hurdles (52.69).
The men's 4x400m relay team of Everhart, Johnson, Versher and Bassani finished second in a regional time of 3:05.48, while the 'B' team of freshmen David Shipp and James Rhoades, sophomore Jeff Jacobs and Williams placed sixth (3:11.85).
In the long jump, freshman Dominique Easterling leaped to a season-best 23-10.75 to place eighth. Freshman Joel Tuosto jumped a lifetime-best 6-8.75 in the high jump to finish seventh overall. In the triple jump, freshman Michael Johnson, Jr. finished sixth (48-8), Easterling was seventh (48-7.25, season-best) and sophomore Chris Merriweather finished ninth (46-10.25).
In the javelin throw, senior Ely Dial placed fourth with a throw of 202-2. Junior Andrew Ninow finished sixth in the hammer with a throw of 182-4. Silverman and freshman Greg Garza both threw 164-5 in the discus to finish sixth, while freshman Josh Rider (159-6) and Caulfield (154-4) finished ninth and 10th respectively.
