Aric Williams Signs Free Agent Contract with Philadelphia

Corvallis, Ore. - Former Oregon State University cornerback Aric Williams has signed a free agent contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. Williams joins Monday's (as of 2 p.m.) free agent signees Mitch Meeuwsen (Miami) and Brandon Browner (Denver).

Williams played 49 career games and was selected second team All-Pac-10 Conference at the conclusion of his senior season. He started 26 games, including 25 straight. Williams led the Pac-10 as a senior for passes defended per game at 1.6 and was second for pass breakups with 14. He also was tied for second last season in the Conference for interceptions with five.

Williams earned Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 in 2003.

Three Beavers were selected in last weekend's NFL Draft. Defensive lineman Bill Swancutt (Detroit) and quarterback Derek Anderson (Baltimore) were picked in the sixth round, and offensive lineman Doug Nienhuis (Seattle) was selected in the seventh round.
