PULLMAN, Wash. - Kristin Marceau of Bend, Ore., signed a National Letter of Intent to swim for Washington State University in the fall of 2005.
'The addition of Kristin (Marceau) rounds out the best class during my tenure at WSU,' said head coach Erica Quam. 'Not only have we been able to add great athletes but excellent students and outstanding people as well.
'Kristin also fits this mold. She will be able to immediately help in the distance freestyle events. She comes from an excellent program in Bend, Ore. and is well rounded and versatile.'
Marceau won the Western Zone Championship in the 800 freestyle and the 400 individual medley while competing for the Bend Swim Club.
Marceau lettered four years for Summit High School, where she served two seasons as the team captain and led the team to two district championships. Marceau also won the 200 and 500 freestyle at districts for three consecutive seasons and received the Most Valuable Female award for Summit swimming in 2005.
Marceau joins Jamie MacLeod of Mississauga, Ontario, Elyse Peterson of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Afton Pickett of Monroe, Mich., in WSU's 2005 recruiting class.
