April 28, 2005
CORVALLIS, Ore. - The No. 8 ranked Oregon State University softball program will host Strike Out Cancer Days on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1 when the Beavers close out the regular season home campaign against No. 2 ranked University of Arizona.
Strike Out Cancer is a program sponsored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) in an effort to raise funds and awareness in the fight against cancer.
All proceeds collected over the weekend will be donated to the American Cancer Society and Linn Benton Relay for Life.
Those contributing $10 or more will be eligible for an array of prizes from the OSU softball program.
The OSU softball program raised $785 for the cause during last year's Civil War series.
Oregon State has won eight consecutive games and 31 of their last 33 outings. The Beavers are currently in first place in the Pacific-10 Conference with a 10-2 record.
