Trojans Win Both Hammer Events To Jump Out To Early Lead In USC-UCLA Dual Meet

Sophomore Julia Rozenfeld upset UCLA's Jessica Cosby after throwing 199-5 in the hammer competition to highlight the first day of the 72nd Annual USC/UCLA Dual Meet held at West Los Angeles College on Friday (April 29).
After one event each, the Women of Troy lead the Bruins 6-3 and the Trojan men are ahead of UCLA's men 5-4.
Sophomore Adam Midles won the men's competition with a 206-4 throw, 15 feet farther than UCLA's second-place finisher Andrew Ninow's 191-1 throw.
Sophomore Alexandra Williams improved her PR by seven feet with a 164-11 throw that was good for third place. Classmate Kevin Swartz also threw a personal-best 174-1 (his old PR was 164-10) on Friday.
The Trojans and Bruins will be back at it Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Cromwell Field in Loker Stadium on the University of Southern California campus.
