Oregon State Finishes First and Second Consecutively In The 800 Meters At The Western Oregon Twilight

Monmouth, Ore. - Oregon State women's track traveled to Monmouth, Oregon to compete in the Western Oregon Twilight this Friday evening. The Beavers competed in the 1,500 meters and boasted consecutive first and second place finish in the 800 meters.

Noelle Harer finished first in the 800 out of 11 runners with a time of 2:22.71, while Julie Garcia followed her with a second place finish time of 2:23.90. Elise Aschwanden finished seventh for the Beavers with a time of 2:28.48.

OSU placed well in the 1,500, with Tara Stirewalt finishing fifth of 13 ladies with a time of 4:59.66. Heather Wales finished seventh with a time of 5:02.983, while Michelle Wilson came in 11th with a time of 5:26.37.

Also on Oregon State's roster and competing unattached are Cynthia Atencio and Megan Kuntz. Both runners posted top finishes in the 1,500, with Atencio finishing fourth and Kuntz finishing sixth with times of 4:59.43 and 5:00.15 respectively.

The Beavers are set to compete in the Oregon Twilight next Friday evening in Eugene, Oregon.
