Bears Win All Races at Big Row

REDWOOD SHORES - Cal's second-ranked men's crew completed its regular season Saturday with a sweep of all races against Stanford in the annual Big Row held at Redwood Shores.
In the varsity eight race, the rivals were tied at 1:22.78 after the first 500 meters. But by the halfway point, the Bears were up nearly two seconds and held a nearly four-second advantage through 1500 meters. At the finish, Cal was by a 5:44.78 to 5:51.03 margin.
In the JV eight, the Bears led wire-to-wire, taking a two-second edge at the one-quarter point. Cal pulled away from there and won going away by more than eight seconds, 5:58.55 to 6:07.73.
