Dockendorf Named UW Gymnastics MVP

Seattle - Washington senior gymnast Carly Dockendorf (Port Moody, B.C.) was named the squad's Most Valuable Gymnast at the Huskies' annual team banquet. Dockendorf, who was also recognized with the Captain Award, ended her Husky career with 48 career event titles, the fifth most in school history. She finished her career as UW's all-time leader with six 10s and 24 floor wins and was tied for second with 13 bars wins. She also won six all-around titles during her career.
Senior Molly Seaman (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) received the team's Outstanding Scholar Award and 101 Award. She owns a 3.79 grade point average in zoology and was a Pac-10 All-Academic selection during the season. Sophomore Tori Quandt (Santa Rosa, Calif.) and sophomore Chelsea Bakken (Mesa, Ariz.) were named the Huskies Most Improved gymnasts. Quandt also received the Huskies' Most Inspirational award. Quandt stepped into the Husky floor lineup and competed in the Huskies' final four meets, including the NCAA Regionals. Bakken was in the Huskies vault, beam and floor lineup for every meet this season, recording a 9.8 or higher 14 times.
Freshman Brittney Brabec (Gresham, Ore.) was named the team's Rookie of the Year. Brabec competed as an all-arounder six times during the season, second most behind Dockendorf.
The Huskies finished their season 16-13 and were ranked 15th in the last GymInfo Rankings. The Huskies will graduate four seniors and expect the return of 11 letterwinners
