Bruins Climb to Fourth Place after 36 Holes

The No. 2-ranked UCLA women's golf team was tied for 4th place after two rounds in the NCAA West Regional, hosted at the University Course in Las Cruces, NM.
UCLA's score on Friday of 299 (+11) was the best of the day. No other school posted a score of 300 or better. At 603 for 36 holes, the Bruins were tied for fourth place with BYU and Cal. USC led the event at 595 (+19), followed by Tennessee at 601 (+25), and Georgia at 602 (+26).
Individually for UCLA, freshman Amie Cochran was tied for 12th place at 149 (+15) after posting a score of 73 in the second round. Seniors Melissa Martin and Charlotte Mayorkas were tied for 24th at 151 (+7). Mayorkas posted a round of 73 (+1) and Martin shot a 74 (+2). Sophomore Hannah Jun was tied for 39th place at 153 (+9) and junior Susie Mathews was tied for 63rd at 156 (+12).
Cal's Sophia Sheridan built her lead to two shots with a 73 (+1) on Friday. She was at 140 (-2).
