Reser Stadium Update -- May 6, 2005
May 6, 2005
Corvallis, Ore. - 'Raising Reser - Expanding Beaver Nation' continues to progress quickly and efficiently. The frame of the stadium has been completed and now efforts are being focused on the infrastructure. Miles of conduit, wire, ductwork, and pipe are being installed throughout the floors of the stadium in preparation for all the amenities that the stadium will offer and support.
The steel is being painted to its final white appearance. Walls for all the restrooms, concession stands, and suites are being built while work continues to fire and sound-proof the ceilings. The only escalators in Corvallis have been set into place and the three elevator shafts are being prepared for installation of the two passenger and one freight elevators.
The seats are starting to be placed and the student section bleachers will begin installation next week (May 9). The skybridge connecting the two upper deck wings has been installed and the concrete for it will be poured next week. The glass windows at the club and suite levels are being placed allowing the outer shell of the stadium to soon be enclosed.
Field turf is making great progress and the new field should be ready for use during the football camp in late June.
The parking structure frame has also been completed and now work is being done on the drains and ventilation for the structure. The internal ramps and floors are also being finished.
The contractors continue to work hard and all expectations are that the stadium and garage will be ready to go when the Beavers open the season Sept. 3 vs. Portland State.
