Sumantri and Hadzic Named To All-Pac-10 Teams

WALNUT CREEK, CALIF. - Washington senior Dea Sumantri was named to the All-Pac-10 second-team and junior Dinka Hadzic earned honorable mention honors, the conference announced today.

Sumantri, who will represent UW in the upcoming NCAA singles championship, garnered her third All-Pac-10 team selection after earning first-team honors as a junior and second-team acclaim as a sophomore. A two-time All-American, Sumantri has been the Huskies' top singles player all season and leads the squad with an overall record 26-13. Her 102 career singles wins rank second on UW's all-time list. She is currently ranked 18th nationally in singles.

Hadzic is making her first appearance on the All-Pac-10 team. She has solidified her spot at the No. 2 position in the singles lineup and compiled an overall record of 17-15. Hadzic and Sumantri have played as UW's No. 1 doubles team and advanced as far as the semifinals of the Pac-10 Championships.

Additional awards handed out by the Pac-10 today went to USC's Nicole Leimbach for Player of the Year, UCLA's Daniela Bercek and Riza Zalameda for Doubles Team of the Year, Cal's Suzi Babos for Freshman of the Year, and Stanford's Lele Forood for Coach of the Year.
