Series Notes: California has won two-of-the last three games played between the teams after Stanford had won an amazing 18 straight games against the Golden Bears • The teams have split the first two games of their current series with the Cardinal winning 7-5 on Friday before California came up with a 2-1 victory in 11 innings on Saturday • California won the nightcap of a non-conference doubleheader earlier this season at Sunken Diamond on March 6 after the Cardinal had won the first two games of the series on March 5 and in the doubleheader opener March 6 • Stanford had swept five consecutive three-game series against the Golden Bears prior to this season and had still won eight straight games between the teams in Berkeley until Saturday's win by California • The Cardinal has still won seven consecutive series over the Golden Bears since California won two-of-three in Berkeley from March 27-29, 2001 • In addition, a Stanford win on Monday versus California would secure a fourth straight Cardinal season series victory against the Golden Bears • The teams split six games in 2001, while the last California season series win came in 1978 when the Golden Bears won four of the six games between the teams
