Hackett Finishes Fifth at Canada World Swimming Trials

Freshman Shannon Hackett finished fifth at the Canada World Swimming Trials in the 400 Freestyle in a time of 4:18.23. A Canadian citizen, Hackett is competed at the World Trials for a spot at either the World Swimming Championships or the World University Games.

Hackett will also swim in the 200 Freestyle on Thursday and the 100 Freestyle on Friday.

Junior Kim Vandenberg has already qualified for the World University Games and will swim for the U.S. in the 200 Butterfly, while Head Swim Coach Cyndi Gallagher will serve as an assistant coach for the U.S. team.
