Three Husky Crews Win Pac-10 Championships

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. - The Washington rowers will have three shiny trophies to display in their newly renovated Conibear Shellhouse.

Three Washington crews won events Sunday, including the men's junior varsity eight that won its second straight conference title during the Pac-10 Rowing Championships at Lake Natoma. Also bringing Pac-10 trophies home to Seattle were the men's varsity four and the women's novice eight crews.

The Huskies finished second to California in both the men's and women's team standings. UW amassed 66 points, finishing just behind the Golden Bears in the men's competition. Oregon State and Stanford tied for third place with 42 points, followed by UCLA (34), Washington State (26) and Oregon (5).

Washington had a second-place point total of 56 in the women's standings. California tallied 67 points to win the women's overall title. USC finished with a 53-point third-place total followed by UCLA (49), Stanford (43), Washington State (38), Oregon State (33) and Oregon (4).
