Hood Improves After NCAA West Regional Second Round

STANFORD, Calif. - California senior Jeff Hood, the lone returnee from last season's NCAA champion men's golf team, is tied for 82nd place Friday after the second round of the NCAA West Regional at the Stanford Golf Course.

The Golden Bear senior carded a three-over 73 and is at 10-over 150 through the first two of three rounds.

BYU's Oscar Alvarez leads the individual competition by four shots at six-under 134 following a one-over 71 Friday. Four golfers are tied for second at 138.

The regional concludes Saturday.
