Schreefel, Cho Finish In Top 15 At NCAA Championships

Freshman Dewi-Claire Schreefel, junior Irene Cho and sophomore Veronica Felibert all shot 74s to lead USC on the final day of the 2005 NCAA Women's Golf Championships at Sunriver (Ore.) Resort Golf Course on Friday (May 20).

USC shot its second-lowest round of the tournament on Friday, coming in at 297 (+13) for a four-day total of 1197 (+61), good for an 11th-place tie.

It was Troy's eighth consecutive appearance at the NCAA Championships.

Duke, which also shot 297 in the final round, finished at 1170 (+34) to hold off UCLA (1175), Auburn (1176) and Pepperdine (1179).

Duke's Anna Grzebien won the NCAA individual title at 286 (+2). Schreefel was USC's highest finisher, finishing tied for 10th at 292 (+8) while Cho tied for 14th at 295 (+11). Felibert wrapped up the season tying for 60th at 303 (+19).

Sophomore Catalina Marin shot a 75 and finished at 308 (+24) while junior Tanya Dergal shot an 80 for a four-day total of 318 (+34).
