UCLA Hangs On To Beat Pac-10 Foe Washington State, 4-3

PULLMAN, Wash. - UCLA right-hander Hector Ambriz earned his first win in nearly three months and for the first time this season UCLA won the opening game of Pac-10 series as the Bruins downed Washington State, 4-2 Friday night at Bailey-Brayton Field. Ambriz scattered eight hits over 8.1 innings pitched while striking out four en route to his first victory since February 25. The Bruins played sound baseball against the conference-winless Cougars, committing no errors and executing a season-high four sacrifice bunts.
UCLA improves to 14-36 (3-16 Pac-10) with the victory while Washington State falls to 20-33 (0-19 Pac-10).
