MADISON, Wisc. - Freshman pinch hitter Lisa Hill came up with the biggest hit in her 19 career at-bats when she belted a sixth inning grand slam home run to help lift the No. 6 ranked Oregon State softball team to a 7-0 victory against DePaul University on Sunday afternoon. The victory sets up another showdown between the Beavers and Blue Demons in which the winner earns the NCAA Regional Tournament title and advances to the Super Regional.

For the third straight game, Oregon State (43-15) shortstop Mia Longfellow ripped a lead-off shot to the right-center field gap. The stand-up double, followed by a walk from Alana Mendoza led to Vanessa Iapala's sacrifice bunt. Junior catcher Lisa Allen then ripped an RBI shot to right field that plated Longfellow. The Beavers got just one run however, as Mendoza was thrown out at the plate.

Sophomore pitcher Brianne McGowan continued her postseason dominance, striking out the side to open the game and keeping the Blue Demon batters on their heals.

DePaul broke-up McGowan's no-hitter when Jenny Doezie slid a two-out fifth inning single to right-center field past the outstretched glove of a diving Kelly Petersen.

With the score still 1-0, the Blue Demons threatened to score in the top of the sixth after back-to-back infield singles to start the frame. McGowan settled in from there, forcing a pair of fly-outs and then recording her ninth strikeout of the game.

Allen changed the complexion of the game and gave the Beavers all of the momentum when she belted her 12th home run of the season - and second in the tournament - to lead-off the bottom of the sixth and give the Beavers some breathing room. Beaver freshman Cambria Miranda followed with her third single of the game and Adrienne Alo also reached base with her second single of the contest.

OSU made the score 3-0 when Sherina Galvan reached base on an error. Hill stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and two outs. The Tahuya, WA, native picked up just the second hit of her career when she sent an 0-2 pitch sailing well over the left field fence.

The grand slam was the second for the Beavers in as many games.

McGowan (36-9) closed out the contest with her 10th strikeout, giving her 48 K's in four tournament outings. She matched the Oregon State school record with her 12th complete game shutout victory.

The championship showdown will start at 11:45 a.m.
