CORVALLIS, Ore. - The OSU Gymnastics team participated in the Relay for Life Friday night through Saturday morning to help raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society's fight to find the cure.
The gymnasts took turns walking around OSU's Memorial Union quad from 6 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday with at least one gymnast on the course at all times. The team raised $1,745 which more than doubled its goal of $800.
'It's great to see the community come together to support a common goal,' said Megan Devencenzi. 'Getting out there to see so many survivors make their `Survivor Laps' and to see the number of their supporters was inspiring.'
After the event, the gymnasts were rewarded for their effort with the 'Most Spirited Team' award.
