California's Super Regional game postponed

May 28, 2005

WACO, Texas - Game No. 2 of the Waco Super Regional between the California softball team and host Baylor has been delayed until 7:30 p.m. CST, due to heavy precipitation in central Texas. Cal leads the three-game series, 1-0, as a result of winning Friday's opener, 8-0, in six innings.

Saturday's game was originally scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. but heavy rains in the morning pushed that start to 2 p.m. Just before first pitch, it began raining again forcing a second postponement.

A Cal victory would send the Bears to the Women's College World Series for the seventh consecutive year. A Baylor win would force a third and decisive game, immediately following the second.
