Sam Warburg and KC Corkery Move On To Semifinals At NCAA Doubles Championship

College Station, Tex. - The No. 2 seeded duo of senior Sam Warburg and junior KC Corkery defeated Arizona's Roger Matalonga and Colin O'Grady in straight sets to advance to the semifinals of the NCAA Doubles Championship in College Station, Texas. The reigning NCAA champions will take on Louisiana State's duo of Mark Growcott and Ken Skupski in semifinal action on Sunday.
Warburg and Corkery won the first set against Matalonga and O'Grady by a 6-3 margin before closing out the quarterfinal win with a 7-6 (5) victory in the second set. It marks the third time that the two duos have met this season, with the Cardinal tandem emerging victorious in all three matches.
Warburg and Corkery will meet Louisiana State's duo of Mark Growcott and Ken Skupski in semifinal play on Sunday. Growcott and Skupski posted a three-set victory over Brown's Phil Charm and Adil Shamasdin in quarterfinal action on Saturday, 6-3, 6-7 (2), 6-4. Warburg and Corkery are aiming to become the first Cardinal duo to ever claim back-to-back NCAA doubles championships.
