USC Heads To Long Beach For NCAA First-Round Regional

LOS ANGELES -- The USC baseball team (37-19) has been selected to play at the Long Beach Regional in first-round action of the 2005 NCAA Tournament. The Trojans will be making their 40th postseason appearance.
Host and Big West Conference power Long Beach State (36-20) is the No. 1 seed while USC has the No. 2 seed. Pepperdine (38-21), which won the West Coast Conference title over Loyola Marymount last weekend, is the No. 3 seed and will be the Trojans' first opponent on Friday. Atlantic 10 champion Rhode Island (34-19) will be the No. 4 seed and face Long Beach State on Friday.
Full session tickets will be available starting on Tuesday at 10 a.m. by calling the Pyramid Box Office at (562) 985-7565 or online at www.longbeachstate.com. All-tournament super boxes will by $80, all-tournament box seats will be $60 and all-tournament general admission passes will be $40.
Single game tickets will go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. with box seats going for $12 and general admission adult tickets going for $8. Youth and senior single game tickets are $6. Should any super box tickets be available they will be $20.
Two games will be played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with a possible winner-take-all game on Monday.
Game times for the tournament will be announced on Monday.
