May 31, 2005
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UCLA right fielder Chris Jensen has been named Honorable Mention All-Pac-10, the conference announced Tuesday. Jensen, a redshirt junior, missed half of the 2005 season due to a hamstring injury but still hit .368 overall and .313 in conference action. Five of his seven home runs came in Pac-10 play.
For Jensen (El Cajon/Rancho Bernardo HS) the honor is the first of his career. He joined the Bruin starting lineup on April 15 against UC Santa Barbara and became a mainstay in right field for the remainder of the season. He finished with 39 hits in 106 at-bats, six double, seven home runs and 21 runs batted in. His batting average of .313 and slugging percentage of .623 were tops on the squad. Twenty-one of his 39 hits came in conference play.
