Eleven Cougars to Compete at NCAA Track & Field Outdoor Championships

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State University will send five women and six men to compete at the Men's 84th and Women's 24th Annual NCAA Div. I Outdoor Track & Field Championships June 8-11, at the Alex G. Spanos Sports Complex on the Sacramento State campus, the NCAA announced today.
The three WSU combined-events competitors - Julie Pickler, Diana Pickler and Darion Powell - advanced to the national meet by reaching automatic qualifying standards during the season. Another six Cougars - Rachel Bertholf, Tyson Byers, John Cassleman, Jenna Dean, James McSwain and Jaycee Robertson - placed in the top five in their events at the NCAA West Region Meet last weekend in Eugene. The final two entries, Tamara Diles and Drew Ulrick, advanced to the national meet by placing in the top eight at the regional meet and were selected from the national descending order list based on season-best marks.
The WSU team and coaching staff will leave Pullman Monday, June 6, for the national meet.
