Arizona Opens NCAA Regionals With 5-3 Victory Over Missouri

FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) - Nick Hundley hit a two-run double to lead afour-run rally that gave Arizona a 5-3 victory over Missouri in the NCAAbaseball regionals Friday.
The Wildcats (38-19) will face the winner of the game between defending NCAAchampion Cal State Fullerton and Harvard in the double-elimination tournament.The Tigers (39-22) will play the loser of the Cal State Fullerton-Harvard game.
Arizona broke a scoreless tie by turning four hits, a stolen base and a wildpitch into four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. After Hundley hit histwo-run double, he scored on the wild pitch.
Junior right-hander John Meloan (10-2) allowed one run, four hits and fourwalks in 6 2/3 innings while striking out 10. Mark Melancon earned his 10thsave.
Brad Boyer led the Wildcats' offense by going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases,a run scored and an RBI.
Missouri's Tyler Williams had two hits and scored two runs. Derek Chambersdumped a single down the left-field line in the ninth to extend his hittingstreak to 11 games.
Max Scherzer (9-4) took the loss despite retiring the first eight batters hefaced.
