Beavers' Varsity Eight Earns Berth in Petite Final

CAMDEN, N.J. - Oregon State's men's Varsity Eight struggled through its semifinal race Friday morning at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships.

The Beavers finished sixth in the first varsity eight semifinal giving them a spot in the Petite Final Saturday at 1:45 p.m. EST. The Petite Final features Stanford, Navy, Brown, Yale and Michigan.

In the fourth Freshman Eight Semifinal, Oregon State rowed to fifth-place getting beaten to the finish by Rutgers and Marist in a close race for third. Friday's semifinal marks the final race of the season for the novices, who missed qualifying for the finals.

The Second Varsity Eight had Friday off, but row again Saturday in the Third Level Final at 9:06 a.m. EST against St. Joseph's, Michigan, Dartmouth, Virginia and Minnesota.
